'This is 40' (Judd Apatow's sort-of sequel) gets a trailer
The trailer for This is 40, Judd Apatow's "sort-of sequel" to the Knocked Up, hit the Internet today. Paul Rudd (who was excellent in last night's Park and Recreation) and Leslie Mann (Apatow's wife) reprise their Knocked Up roles. The film picks up a few years after Knocked Up, with Pete (Rudd) and Debbie (Mann) taking stock of their lives and family as they grow older.
I'm curious to see how this movie is going to fit with the universe created in Knocked Up. Jason Segel is in this trailer, but it appears that he's playing a character different than the stoner roommate of Seth Rogen he played in Knocked Up. This seems to be similar to the Jonah Hill situation created with Get Him to the Greek, the sort-of sequel to Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
Interesting fact: Pete and Debbie's kids in This is 40 are not only played by the same girls who played them in Knocked Up, but those girls are actually Apatow and Mann's real-life children.
