Joaquin Phoenix and Paul Thomas Anderson Return With 'The Master' Trailer

After directing 2007's There Will Be Blood (which, in my opinion, was that year's best film), Paul Thomas Anderson has spent the past few years working on The Master, his next film. According to IMDb, The Master is about "the relationship between a charismatic intellectual known as 'the Master' whose faith-based organization begins to catch on in America, and a young drifter who becomes his right-hand man." If you think that sounds like Scientology, you're not the only one who's made that connection. The film's buzz has been largely due to this controversy.

Besides that, The Master is Joaquin Phoenix's return to acting, ending his bizarre "is he crazy or is he just pretending" period. That said, Phoenix still plays disheveled and crazy pretty well in the first trailer for The Master.
