REJOICE: Larry the Cable Guy Absent from Latest 'Brave' Clips

Ever since the Cars 2 fiasco last year, I've been saying that Brave, Pixar's next film, will determine the future of the studio. Since its inception, Pixar has been known for delivering critical and financial hit after critical and financial hit. Pixar movies have been timeless classics that refused to cater to the lower common denominator of humor (see DreamWorks and its love of fart jokes), and those films have competed for Best Picture Oscars for years now. That all ended last year with Cars 2. For the first time, Pixar made a movie that's only purpose was to sell toys and relied on Larry the Cable Guy while doing so. The movie is a dark mark on Pixar's once spotless record.

Yahoo! Movies has a few new clips for Brave, and I'm still having trouble reading this film. These clips look good. The animation is great, the characters look solid, but I still have the kilt commercial and its mooning gag stuck in my head. For Brave to return Pixar to its the heights that we expect the studio to achieve, the film better avoid any gag that you'd normally see in a Shrek movie.
