TRAILER: 'Pitch Perfect' Is the Movie Version of 'The Sing-Off' But With Girls Instead of Nick Lachey

Apparently a cappella singing is a big thing. NBC aired three seasons of The Sing-Off, a show that featured a cappella groups competing against each other. Last season even featured a team from my hometown of Rochester, N.Y., the YellowJackets. The University of Rochester can't win football games, but they can produce really good a cappella singers.

Looking to capitalize on the a cappella trend (and Glee, obviously), Pitch Perfect hits theaters Oct. 5, 2012. The movie stars Anna Kendrick, an Oscar nominee for Up in the Air, True Blood and The Help's Anna Camp, John Tucker Must Die's Brittany Snow and Bridesmaid's Rebel Wilson. The random breaking out into song is probably going to get annoying, but I'll admit that based on its cast, Pitch Perfect could be good.
