'Finding Nemo' Sequel Swimming Your Way: Pixar and Andrew Stanton Are On Board

Deadline is reporting that Pixar and director Andrew Stanton are about to return to the friendly waters of Finding Nemo. While Pixar won't comment on the project's development, Deadline's report says that will give Stanton a second chance at a live-actoin film after the John Carter bomb in exchange for the director leading a Finding Nemo sequel.

Timing-wise, Pixar and Disney couldn't have a better time to announce a Finding Nemo sequel, with the film returning to theaters at year's end in 3D. While I'd love to see Pixar focus on original projects instead of sequels, it's easier to see the studio revisit their best films like Finding Nemo and Toy Story instead of Cars. At this point, a sequel to director Brad Bird's The Incredibles is the remaining Pixar holy grail.
