That S.H.I.E.L.D. Case Full of 'The Avengers' and Other Marvel Films Has Some Amazing Artwork
On Sept. 25, 2012, not only will you be able to pick up The Avengers on Blu-ray (or DVD, if that's still your thing), but Marvel will also release the Marvel Cinematic Universe — Phase One: Avengers Assembled set on that date. This set will not only collect all six Marvel movies that built up to The Avengers, but it will come packaged in a S.H.I.E.L.D. containment case, complete with your very own Tesseract inside.
The set will also include a bonus disc called The Phase One Archives. No one really knows what's going to be on that disc yet, but it'll probably be awesome. Instead of using the six movies' previous Blu-ray art or just slapping together some random illustration in Photoshop (I'm looking at you, George Lucas ...), Marvel commissioned six new illustration for the disc sleeves. Artist Matthew Ferguson put these guys together, and, wow, do they look fantastic. I already own the five available Marvel Cinematic Universe films, so I don't plan on dropping $150 on this set, but I'd love to get cases with this artwork on them.
Hop past the jump to see all six disc sleeves.
