Abby Elliott Leaves 'Saturday Night Live'

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Abby Elliott has left Saturday Night Live. The actress (and daughter of SNL alum Chris Elliott) joined SNL in November 2008, playing numerous characters during her time on the show. Elliott's impression of Angelina Jolie was one of her best. During her time on the show, Elliott never really seemed to break out, with female costars like Kristen Wiig dominating her tenure.

So what does this mean for SNL? The show has now lost Wiig, Andy Samberg, Elliott and maybe Jason Sudeikis since the end of last season. Sudeikis is still up in the air, with no official announcement being made on his fate. A report back in July claimed that Sudeikis had officially ended his SNL career, but with people now guessing which SNL player will portray GOP vice presidential pick Paul Ryan, everyone has once again assumed that Sudeikis will be back to play Mitt Romney.

Kate McKinnon came on strong at the end of last season, so can we assume that Lorne Michaels will start featuring her more with Elliott and Wiig gone? Taran Killam is poised to become SNL's male lead,  but Michaels will still have to bring in more talent to make up for what the show has lost over the past few months.
