'The Avengers' Alternate Opening with Cobie Smulders Would've Set Up a Different Movie

With The Avengers coming out on home media next month (but that awesome Marvel Cinematic Universe — Phase One: Avengers Assembled briefcase is being held up due to a lawsuit), Marvel has begun pushing deleted and alternate scenes from the movie onto the Internet.

Today's clip shows an alternate vision director Joss Whedon had for The Avengers' opening scene. Instead of starting with a tesseract lesson, The Avengers could have been one giant flashback, with Cobie Smulders' Maria Hill being interrogated by S.H.I.E.L.D. about the damage and chaos caused by the Avengers. You know what? I kind of like this clip. Not sure if I would've wanted The Avengers to be set up as a big flashback though.
