Because Everyone Was Asking for One, We're Gonna Get a 'Knight's Tale' TV Show

You remember A Knight's Tale, right? It was that movie about a peasant who pretended to be a knight that came out back in 2001. (Which, if you're counting, means that A Knight's Tale is over a decade old.) Heath Ledger was in it. We all know Heath Ledger. Shannyn Sossamon and Paul Bettany were in it. Even Bérénice Bejo, who got a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for The Artist last year, was in it. I was a fan of A Knight's Tale and own it on DVD. (Although, I own a lot of movies on DVD and Blu-ray, so that's not always a good barometer of quality.)

Anyways, I bring this all up now because Ron Moore, the man behind Battlestar Galactica, is planning on bringing A Knight's Tale to ABC as a TV series. Deadline has the scoop:
The series is expected to stay close to the premise and the style of the movie – it is described as a medieval fantasy incorporating modern music and themes that follows the journey of a young man who starts out impersonating a knight of the realm and ends up becoming one. In addition to writing, Moore is executive producing with his producing partner at Tall Ship Prods.
Will this work? Would you watch A Knight's Tale as a TV series? The movie was one that proved Ledger could carry films on his own. Could a TV series do the same for another up-and-coming actor?
