'Boy Meets World' Sequel Series' Character Names and Synopsis Revealed (and Beverly Glen Isn't Happening)

When the news broke that Disney Channel was working on a Boy Meets World sequel series called Girl Meets World, die-hard fans immediately pointed out that Cory and Topanga's daughter should be named Beverly Glen, based on the Plays with Squirrels episode that looked into the characters' futures.

Looks like Girl Meets World will take place in a different future, as TVLine is reporting that Cory and Topanga named their daughter Riley.

Cory and Topanga’s Girl Meets World kiddo is a 13-year-old named Riley who’s full of life, super positive and very loyal to her friends. She’s got a slightly older brother, Elliot, and – this may make fans very happy– her dad is her history teacher. ... The show also is casting Riley’s best friend, a dark, edgy, acerbic girl named Maya who’s probably not as pessimistic as she seems.

Wow. That's a lot of information about a show that doesn't have a cast yet. Cory and Topanga wound up having a boy and a girl, Elliot and Riley. Cory's a history teacher. And this friend named Maya sounds like she'll be the Shawn to Riley' Cory. Like Star Wars: Episode VII, I'm anxious to see how this bit of childhood nostalgia shapes up.
