Jamie Foxx in Talks to Play Villain (Probably Electro) in 'The Amazing Spider-Man' Sequel

Welcome to the world of superheroes, Jamie Foxx. Variety broke the news on Thursday that Foxx was in serious talks with Sony to play the unnamed villain in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. According to reports, that unnamed villain will be Electro. On Thursday afternoon, Foxx tweeted, "Dressed up as Electro for Halloween last night. Costume fits well," further backing the idea that Foxx would play that certain villain in the 2014 sequel to Marc Webb's Spider-Man reboot.

While Foxx wouldn't be the first actor that would come to my mind when asked to brainstorm who could play Electro, I think it's an excellent choice. Foxx won an Oscar for his role in Ray. He's a serious actor who would fit in well with Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Shailene Woodley, other acclaimed actors in the new Spider-Man franchise.
