Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Reps Deny Rumors That He'll Be 'Justice League' Batman
In response to yesterday's huge rumor that Joseph Gordon-Levitt would play Batman in the Justice League movie, with the possibility of a cameo in next summer's Man of Steel Superman reboot, the actor's representatives have issued a statement denying that Gordon-Levitt will return as the Dark Knight.
By the way, Entertainment Weekly's Alberto Falcone comment was a reference to the role Gordon-Levitt was originally rumored to be playing when he joined Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises.
Well, when contacted by EW, a representative for Joseph Gordon-Levitt declares the report entirely false. Fair enough. But keep in mind, this could all be a big Nolanesque con to obscure the real truth: That Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been playing Alberto Falcone all along.Well, of course Gordon-Levitt's people are going to deny this rumor. Did anyone think they were just going to shrug their shoulders and sigh, "Damn. You got us. He's Batman," without Warner Bros. making a huge announcement? Never. Once Warner Bros. gets its actors in line for Justice League, there'll be a big show and dance unveiling the cast. I still believe Gordon-Levitt will be Batman, and Warner Bros. already has a Superman and Green Lantern in Henry Cavill and Ryan Reynolds, respectively. Wonder Woman is the last big casting surprise left out there.
