'You'll Want to Keep the Lights On': 'Jurassic Park IV' Promises a New Dinosaur to Scare Audiences
Remember how you loved the T-rex in Jurassic Park? And the T-rex in The Lost World: Jurassic Park? Remember how they killed off the T-rex in Jurassic Park III and it sucked? Well, Jack Horner is serving as an adviser on Jurassic Park IV, and while chatting with USA Today, the paleontologist revealed that the upcoming movie would once again turn to a new dinosaur for its prehistoric threat.
Details are scarce about Jurassic Park 4, which Spielberg will executive-produce and Colin Trevorrow will direct. But count on a new, previously extinct creature rising to stardom.
"I can't actually tell you who that will be," says Horner, who will consult on the new film. "But you'll want to keep the lights on after you see this movie."So which awesome dinosaurs are left? If the franchise has used up the T-rex and isn't planning on going with the spinosaur again, what giant, frightening dinosaur could Jurassic Park IV pick? Horner didn't give us any clues, but I'd suggest the carnotaurus. It looks like a smaller T-rex, but it has horns and director Colin Trevorrow could always bump the carnotaurus up to make it more terrifying. That's what Disney did when they used it as the villains in Dinosaur.
