Marc Maron's 'Maron' Gets Picked Up by IFC for a 13-Episode Season

On Tuesday, IFC announced that it had greenlit a second season for Maron, the show produced and based on the life of comedian Marc Maron. The show's first season wrapped up about a month ago, and the delay in regards to a renewal had started to make fans of Maron worried.
IFC president and general manager, Jennifer Caserta, had this to say: “In many ways, Marc is a perfect representation of IFC and our approach to comedy. He also seems to be in need of a less dysfunctional family, so we’re happy he’s returning to ours for an expanded second season.”
Maron has had quite the year, with his WTF podcast growing in popularity (I listened to two episodes during a six-hour drive this morning) and he has a new book out. I found his IFC TV show to be an awkwardly funny experience, which I would best sum up as Louie lite. (And I mean that in the best possible way.)

Season 2 of Maron will premiere in 2014. The show stars Maron, Judd Hirsch, Nora Zehetner and Josh Brener.
