Marvel Unveils First Poster for 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'

With Comic-Con just around the corner, Marvel's getting ready to start a major hype push for its Cinematic Universe, with Captain America: The Winter Soldier getting some early promotion on Tuesday. The studio released a teaser poster for the upcoming sequel, displaying a scuffed and battered Captain America shield.

There are a couple interesting things about this image. The first is that while, on first glance, it appears that the red has been stripped from the shield, it actually looks like the red is underneath a layer of silver-colored metal. Of course, this could just be some Photoshopping gone wrong, kind of like those Amazing Spider-Man posters that had unrealistically placed scratches across Spider-Man's chest. We do know that the appearance of Captain America's shield changes in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, as we saw set pics featuring Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan last month, with Evans sporting a version of the shield missing the signature red rings.

So what do you think's happened to Cap's shield? Head past the jump to check out the full poster for yourself. Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theaters on April 4, 2014.
