Bradley Cooper in Talks to Voice Rocket Raccoon in 'Guardians of the Galaxy'
With Vin Diesel all but confirming earlier this month that he would be the man voicing Groot in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, the final big role to fill was the voice of Rocket Raccoon. There has been a lot of speculation over who would voice the talking raccoon, with names like Nick Offerman and Adam Sandler popping up. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it sounds like Marvel has found their guy. The site is reporting that Bradley Cooper is in talks to join Guardians of the Galaxy as Rocket's voice.
We first heard rumblings of this news earlier Thursday when Latino-Review claimed to have the exclusive scoop, but as that site's track record has taken a severe hit over the past few months, Popculturology didn't feel comfortable relaying the rumor. When a site gets more wrong than it does right, you have to be careful. With The Hollywood Reporter and other sites including Deadline saying their sources confirm the news, we can put a lot more faith into the scoop.
Cooper would join Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista and probably Diesel among the film's main cast. Guardians of the Galaxy is set to hit theaters on Aug. 1, 2014.
In the same article, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Elizabeth Olsen was in negotiations to play the Scarlet Witch in Joss Whedon's The Avengers: Age of Ultron, saying, "Sources familiar with the deals say that Olsen's dealmaking is further along than Cooper's, which is just beginning."
