REPORT: John Milhiser and Noel Wells in Line to Join 'Saturday Night Live'
With Jason Sudeikis, Bill Hader and Fred Armisen gone, Lorne Michaels has had a busy summer searching for new talent to add to Saturday Night Live. According to Deadline, Michaels has found at least two new comedians to replace the talent he lost. John Milhiser and Noel Wells, both veterans of Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, are named as "top candidates" by Deadline.
Milhiser has been part of the group Serious Lunch, which has appeared on Attack of the Show and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Wells has acted in several College Humor Originals and was in the independent film Forev.
SNL returns for its 39th season on Sept. 28. With the exception of Sudeikis, Hader and Armisen, the rest of Season 38's cast will return. Seth Meyers will depart halfway through the season as he takes over Late Night from Jimmy Fallon.
Speaking of SNL, The New York Times has an excellent oral history of auditioning for the show. If you're an SNL fan, take the time to read it.
