TRAILER: Thor, Loki and Natalie Portman Face a Dark Threat in 'Thor: The Dark World'

After successive $1 billion hits with The Avengers and Iron Man 3, Marvel is hoping to continue its money-printing streak when Thor: The Dark World hits theaters in November. To accomplish that feat, the sequel to Thor is going to need a lot of luck ... and Marvel's usual heavy promotional push.

While we won't know if the luck part works out for Thor: The Dark World until the movie opens, Marvel is doing what it can with the promotional part, releasing a new, longer trailer for the movie on Wednesday to follow up a new poster that was released last week.

The new trailer hints at a darker tone than the first trailer did, with Chris Hemsworth's Thor turning to his traitor brother, Tom Hiddleston's Loki, to help fight a new threat. With the knowledge that this could be Hemsworth's final go-round as Thor, it's kind of weird watching this trailer. Dead man walking sort of thing.

Thor: The Dark World hits theaters on Nov. 8. It stars Hemsworth, Hiddelston, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgard, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccelston, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Jaime Alexander and Rene Russo. Head past the jump to check out the new trailer for Thor: The Dark World.
