TRAILER: Will Forte and Bruce Dern Go Looking to Claim a Million Dollars in Alexander Payne's 'Nebraska'

Popculturology hasn't gotten around to covering Alexander Payne's Nebraska yet, but that's probably because no one invited us to any of the film festivals it's played at. Way to go, film festivals. Not like we enjoy seeing movies too or anything. It's fine. We were probably busy that night anyways ...

But yeah, Nebraska. Payne follows up The Descendants with a black-and-white film about a father who thinks he's won a million dollars and the son who must accompany him on the journey to collect the money. Oscar winner Bruce Dern plays Woody Grant, the father, with former Saturday Night Live star Will Forte playing the son, David.

Yes, you read that right — SNL's Forte, MacGruber himself, has a starring role in a film by the guy who directed Sideways and The Descendants. Payne has a knack for discovering talent in places you wouldn't expect to find it. Before he cast Shailene Woodley in The Descendants, she was best known as the girl from The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Now she's one of the most-acclaimed and in-demand young actresses working. Maybe the same will be true for Forte. Well, not the "young actress" part.

Nebraska stars Dern, Forte, June Squibb, Stacy Keach and Bob Odenkirk. It's set to hit theaters on Nov. 22. Head past the jump to check out the first trailer for the film.
