Natalie Portman's 'Jane Got a Gun' Sets August 2014 Release Date
Natalie Portman's seemingly cursed western finally has a release date. Relativity and The Weinstein Co. announced on Monday that Jane Got a Gun will hit theaters on Aug. 29, 2014.
This is definitely good for Portman. The Oscar winner is producing Jane Got a Gun, and for several months, things looked pretty bleak for the film. In addition to Portman, Jane Got a Gun stars Joel Edgerton and Ewan McGregor, but that lineup took awhile to settle. Michael Fassbender was originally playing the movie's hero, with Edgerton playing the villain. After Fassbender dropped out, Edgerton slid into his role, and Jude Law signed on to play the villain. Law then dropped out and was replaced by Bradley Cooper ... who then dropped out and was replaced by McGregor. On top of all that, Jane Got a Gun was first to be directed by Lynne Ramsay. She abruptly quit and was replaced by Warrior's Gavin O'Conner.
Whew. Got all that?
Anyways, things look like they're finally moving along for Portman and Jane Got a Gun.
