Oops: The Production Companies Working on the 'It's a Wonderful Life' Sequel Never Got the Rights
So remember that It's a Wonderful Life sequel that people, including Popculturology's Anton Ali, were not happy about? Well, it turns out that the production companies behind the idea forgot to take care of one tiny thing. They didn't get the licensing rights.
Oops.
The Associated Press reports that a Paramont "spokeswoman said Wednesday no project relating to It's a Wonderful Life can proceed without a license from Paramount, which owns the film's rights," and that the "individuals involved with the sequel have not obtained any of the necessary rights, and the studio would take all appropriate steps to protect those rights."
I guess we can stop protesting the It's a Wonderful Life sequel now. It's not happening.
