'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' and 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' Get Behind-the-Scenes Looks

Continuing its streak of reveals, Empire magazine debuted behind-the-scenes pics for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and X-Men: Days of Future Past on Monday. Together the two sequels represent the biggest pieces of Fox's summer movie schedule, with both Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and X-Men: Days of Future Past getting trailers over the past few weeks.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is the sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes, the prequel/reboot to the classic Planet of the Apes series. In the upcoming installment, Andy Serkis returns as Caesar, the leader of the ape uprising. In Empire's behind-the-scenes photo for Dawn, Serkis dons his iconic motion-capture suit to strike a pose as Caesar.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is the sequel to X-Men: First Class. It's also a sequel to X-Men: The Last Stand ... and The Wolverine ... and since the characters from Bryan Singer's original X-Men trilogy go back in time, I guess it's also the prequel to the first X-Men movie ... hmmmm. Anyways, Empire's pic for the film features Singer with Hugh Jackman and several key members of the First Class side of Days of Future Past's cast, with James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult joining Singer and Jackman for a green-screen shot.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes opens on July 11, 2014. X-Men: Days of Future Past opens on May 23, 2014.
