Josh Gad Will Write and Star In 'Gilligan's Island' Movie

Josh Gad's journey has taken him from supporting actor in Love and Other Drugs to Broadway star in The Book of Mormon to voicing a beloved snowman in Disney's Frozen. This journey will now take the actor to another place: Gilligan's Island. Gad will co-write and star in a cinematic adaption of the classic TV show for Warner Bros., according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Gad will write the screenplay for Gilligan's Island with Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez, which THR notes is the same trio behind the failed NBC show 1600 Penn. Hopefully these guys have some other tricks up their sleeves, since 1600 Penn was awful, with Gad arguably being the worst part of the show.
