'Star Wars: Episode VII' Cast Revealed

The JJ Abrams Era of Star Wars finally has a cast. On Tuesday, Lucasfilm announced that Original Trilogy stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker along with series newcomers John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Max von Sydow will star in Star Wars: Episode VII, putting an end to over a year of speculation. (Yes, Disney bought Lucasfilm almost a year and a half ago. Doesn't seem like it's been that long, huh?)

Wow. So we knew the Original Trilogy guys would be back, and we've heard rumors about Driver and Isaac, but Serkis and von Sydow? Those are some pretty big additions.

"We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII," Abrams said in a statement. "It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud."

Star Wars: Episode VII will open on Dec. 18, 2015.
