Damon Wayans Jr. Promoted to 'New Girl' Series Regular (Again)
Things have gone full circle for Damon Wayans Jr. TVLine reported on Tuesday that the actor had been promoted to a New Girl series regular for the show's fourth season.
Wayans was once a New Girl series regular for the show's pilot episode, but had to leave the series when Happy Endings got a surprise second-season pickup. After Happy Endings was canceled (never forget!), Wayans returned to his Coach role on New Girl as a guest star. Wayans' guest star stint was eventually extended for the entirety of Season 3.
Wayans becomes the second former Happy Endings castmember to have his guest stint on a Fox series turned into a regular job. Adam Pally previously shifted from being a guest star on The Mindy Project to being a series regular.
