'Harry Potter' Spinoff 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' Gets a November 2016 Release Date

After taking the holidays off for a few years, Harry Potter will once again return to theaters in Winter 2016. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the first in a new trilogy of movies written by Harry Potter author JK Rowling, will open on Nov. 18, 2016.

We learned back in September that Warner Bros. was revving up the Harry Potter money machine again, choosing to adapt Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. It's a pretty short book, but this is the studio that turned one Hobbit book into three Hobbit movies. Warner Bros. isn't afraid to spread out source material.

So far, it sounds like Harry Potter himself won't show up in the Fantastic Beasts trilogy. There is time travel in the universe Rowling created ...
