The International Trailer for 'Guardians of the Galaxy' May Be the Best Trailer Yet
Warner Bros. can do whatever it wants with its Justice League movies, but as long as they're still recycling Superman and Batman while Marvel Studios is about to launch Guardians of the Galaxy, they're going to be forever playing catchup. A new international trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy makes that perfectly clear, effortlessly being both insanely epic and extremely funny at the same time.
The past trailers that we've gotten for Guardians of the Galaxy have pretty much focused on the comedic aspects of the director James Gunn's film, but the new one also mixes in both Star-Lord's origin story and a few plot details that give the trailer some emotional weight.
Of course, those elements don't stop Rocket from stealing the trailer by the end of its runtime. The raccoon-like creature voiced by Bradley Cooper is going to become a pop culture icon by the end of summer thanks to this movie. The banter between Rocket, Chris Pratt's Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana's Gamora and the Vin Diesel-voiced Groot at the very end of the trailer is worth several repeat viewings.
Also, does anyone else think that the Milano, Star-Lord's ship, sounds a bit like a TIE fighter at the beginning of the trailer?
Guardians of the Galaxy opens on Aug. 1.
