Evangeline Lilly and Corey Stoll Join 'Ant-Man' as Hope Van Dyne and Yellowjacket

Marvel confirmed on Saturday what the Internet has known for awhile — Evangeline Lilly will be the female lead in Ant-Man and Corey Stoll will play Yellowjacket, the movie's villain.

The biggest twist it that Lilly won't be playing Janet Van Dyne. Instead, the Lost actress will play Hope Van Dyne, the daughter of Michael Douglas' Hank Pym. Does this mean that Lilly will still wind up being the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Wasp? (Yes. Probably yes.)

"We've been fans of Evangeline for years, and couldn’t be more pleased that she's agreed to join us on Ant-Man’s journey to the big screen," Marvel's Kevin Feige said in a statement. "We look forward to audiences learning more about her character when she joins forces with Hank Pym and Scott Lang in 2015."

Feige went on to discuss Stoll as Ant-Man's villain, saying: "Corey brings depth to every role he plays. As a major part of the Ant-Man ensemble, we all wanted an actor who could be both cunning and sympathetic, and help create a character as dynamic as Marvel's best antagonists."
