The 'Power Rangers' Reboot Will Hit Theaters in July 2016

Hopefully you haven't made plans during your 2016 summer vacation yet, since the Power Rangers reboot is coming on that July 22.

We don't know much about the new Power Rangers movie beside the fact that the scribes behind X-Men: First Class are writing it and that it won't be a complete reboot of the canon that the TV shows have established. Yes, that means favorites like Tommy will exist in the new movie — so Jason David Frank can totally come back.

Lionsgate is leading the charge with the new Power Rangers movie, hopefully that it can create a new movie franchise out of the deal. With many studios now trying to create cinematic universes out of their franchises, could Lionsgate do this too? Power Rangers vs. Twilight, anyone?
