INHUMANS Coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Nov. 2, 2018

Marvel Studios announced on Tuesday that Inhumans will be the final piece of the puzzle before Avengers: Infinity War — Part II hits theaters.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige made the announcement at a special event laying out the full slate of films for Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.

“November 3, 2018 will introduce dozens of characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe," promised Feige. "We really do believe the Inhumans can be a franchise or a series of franchise unto themselves. They have dozens of powers and an amazing social structure. With our 20th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we wanted to continue to refine what that universe is about."

We heard rumors over the summer that Marvel was ready to move forward with Inhumans, planning to bring Blackbolt and his family to the big screen as a way to replace mutants. There's a chance that Avengers: Age of Ultron will introduce Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch as Inhumans, seeing as how the studio can't use their actual mutant origins. The Agents of SHIELD TV show has been hinting heavily that Skye is actually Inhuman, so there's a chance we've already seen the seeds of Inhumans planted.

Taking place between the two parts of Avengers: Infinity War, I'd guess that we're going to see the Inhumans step in to help the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy take on Thanos.

Inhumans opens on Nov. 3, 2018. No director was announced for the film.
