REPORT: 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Star Dave Bautista Snags 'Bond' Henchman Role

The Guardians of the Galaxy cast is a busy bunch of people. Chris Pratt also has The Lego Movie sequel and Jurassic World. Zoe Saldana is in the Avatar and Star Trek franchises. Vin Diesel has Fast and Furious. Bradley Cooper is out getting Oscar nominations. Dave Bautista is about to join his busy castmates by adding a second franchise to his portfolio. The man who brought Drax to life has snagged the new henchman role in the upcoming James Bond film, according to Latino-Review.

Word got out last month that the producers of Bond 24 were looking for an actor to play a henchman along the lines of class Bond villains like Oddjob and Jaws. A casting breakdown refers to a character named Hinx who is the main henchman/assassin" in the movie. Producers "are looking for an imposing extremely physically fit actor. He has several fights with Bond and will have to have stunt training. He has to drive. We are looking for someone very unusual, possibly from a sports background."

Well, that's Bautista, isn't it?

Good for him. Drax stole the show in Guardians of the Galaxy (well, stole it when Rocket and Groot weren't stealing it), so it's not surprising that Bautista would find new roles in other giant franchises.

The next Bond film is set to open on Oct. 23, 2015. Skyfall director Sam Mendes is back to direct, with Daniel Craig reprising the role of James Bond for the fourth time.
