Empire Unveils Four New Images From the FANTASTIC FOUR Reboot

The Fantastic Four reboot hits theaters in just over five months, but we've seen very little from the movie. After the film's first trailer touched on the superpowers gained by Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm, the marketing campaign has gone silent once again.

Fox debuted four new images from Fantastic Four in this month's issue of Empire. The pics are all the super conservative side — no flames or stretching to be seen here.

 

Fantastic Four director Josh Trank also addressed his film's tone, commenting on why this version of the Fantastic Four looked so different from what fans are used to seeing in the comics.

"There's the opportunity to make something that is challenging and tragic and dramatic," Trank told Empire. "The opportunity is right there in the material. We'd rather steer it in that direction as opposed to just embracing a tone that comes right off the page."

Fantastic Four stars Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell, Toby Kebbell and Tim Blake Nelson. The movie opens on Aug. 7.
