First Look at Dave Bautista in SPECTRE as James Bond Villain Mr. Hinx

After playing Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy, Dave Bautista joined Spectre, the upcoming James Bond sequel — but only after getting assurance from director Sam Mendes that he would be playing a badass. Make that an intelligent badass.

"When I came over to meet Sam, I only asked two questions," Bautista told Empire. "I asked him if Mr. Hinx was a badass. He said, 'Yes, he's a badass.' I said, 'Well, is Mr. Hinx intelligent?' He said, 'Very.' That's what I like about Mr. Hinx. He's very well-dressed and very well-mannered. I'm not just here to fight people. He has a sense of humour. He definitely knows what a metaphor is."

Empire published the first pic of Bautista as Mr. Hinx in its latest issue. Unsurprisingly, Bautista isn't sporting body paint and large tattoos in Spectre.

In addition to a first look at Bautista as Mr. Hinx, Empire published a shot of Lea Seydoux as Dr. Madeleine Swann, pictured with Mendes.

Spectre opens on Nov. 6. In addition to Bautista and Seydoux, the movie stars Daniel Craig, Christoph Waltz, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Monica Belluci, Rory Kinnear and Andrew Scott.
