Nicolas Cage Joins Oliver Stone's SNOWDEN Movie

Nicolas Cage is no stranger when it comes to playing characters who are involved with the theft of documents belonging to the American government, which makes him the perfect actor to join Oliver Stone's film about NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden.

With Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley already on board as Snowden and his girlfriend, Lindsay Mills, Cage will play a former US intelligence officer, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Cage and Stone previously tackled the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorists attacks in World Trade Center.

Snowden is based on the books The Snowden Files: The Inside Story of the World's Most Wanted Man and Time of the Octopus. The movie will hit theaters on Dec. 25 and star Gordon-Levitt, Woodley, Cage, Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Tom Wilkinson, Rhys Ifans, Joely Richardson and Timothy Olyphant.
