A Very Old Looking Arnold Schwarzenegger Is Back in New TERMINATOR GENISYS Images

I'm not sure how a Terminator ages, but I'm guessing Terminator Genisys is going to find a way to explain why the machine played by Arnold Schwarzenegger is looking about three decades older than he did the first time he menaced Sarah Connor.

Terminator Genisys will be the fifth installment of the Terminator franchise, but unlike the past three sequels, this one will tweak the timeline we've previously seen. When Kyle Reese (played by Jai Courtney) goes back in time, instead of a scared Sarah Connor he'll find a version of the character (played by Emilia Clarke) protected by Schwarzenegger's T-800.

The latest issue of Empire magazine has a few pics from Terminator Genisys. There's Schwarzenegger as an old Terminator and a few of Jason Clarke as John Connor and Courtney as Kyle Reese.

The first trailer for Terminator Genisys earned a mixed response, but I think there's potential in how director Alan Taylor is tackling this movie. Instead of just another sequel or a full reboot, Terminator Genisys is trying to find a way to breathe new life into the Terminator franchise without having to play by every rule these movies have been setting up since 1984.

Terminator Genisys opens on July 1. The movie stars Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Courtney, Matt Smith, Lee Byung-hun and JK Simmons.
