Andy Samberg to Host 2015 Emmys

Unlike the Oscars, the annual Emmy Awards rotate between the four major networks. While NBC has had its late-night hosts Conan O'Brien, Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers, CBS has had its How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris to host and ABC has had Jimmy Kimmel, Fox has had to rely on American Idol host Ryan Seacrest and Glee star Jane Lynch whenever its turn comes around.

Fox will turn to one of its own award-winning stars to host the 2015 Emmys. The network announced on Thursday that Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Andy Samberg will emcee the award ceremony.

"Buckle your seat belts, Emmy viewers!" Samberg said in a statement. "Like, in general you should buckle your seat belts in your car. In fact, even if you're not an Emmy viewer, you should buckle your seat belt. It can be dangerous on the road. Also, if you're not an Emmy viewer, you should strongly consider becoming one this year, because I'm hosting, and it's gonna be a wild ride. So buckle your seat belts."

Will Samberg bring his Lonely Island crew with him? While Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer are usually associated with NBC and Saturday Night Live, they did show up to celebrate The Lego Movie during the Oscars on ABC last month.

The 2015 Emmy Awards will be held on Sept. 20.
