Mmmmm, New SIMPSONS and Kwik-E-Mart Lego Sets and Minifigures ...

Last year's The Simpsons series of Lego minifigures and the pricey Simpsons House Lego set were just the beginning of Lego's Simpsons endeavors. The company announced on Thursday that it would be rolling out Series 2 of Simpsons Lego minifigures and a Kwik-E-Mart set in May.

Yahoo! has an exclusive look at the Kwik-E-Mart set. According to them, the set will cost $199.99 — the same as The Simpsons House set. The 2,179-brick set includes five minifigs: Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, Marge Simpson, Homer Simpson, Bart Simpson, Chief Wiggum and Snake.

Like last year, if you don't want to spend $200 on a Lego set, you can get a bunch of Simpsons minifigs for just a few bucks a piece. Series 2 of The Simpsons minifigures will contain 16 characters.  Like all series of Lego Collectible Minifigures, these 16 will be randomly bagged.

Several of the Series 2 minifigures are new versions of characters who had been featured in Series 1. There's Homer and Marge Simpson in their church clothes, Hans Moleman, Dr. Hibbert with an x-ray showing a crayon in Homer's brain, Bartman with a slingshot, Groundskeeper Willie, Comic Book Guy with a pretty cool Squishee piece, Millhouse dressed as Fallout Boy, Edna Krabappel, Smithers, Maggie Simpson with Santa's Little Helper, Lisa Simpson with Snowball, Professor Frink, Martin and Patty and Selma Bouvier.
