ZOOLANDER 2 Set for February 2016

Blue Steel is about to make a comeback. Paramount Pictures announced on Tuesday that Zoolander 2 will hit theaters on Feb. 12, 2016.

To announce Zoolander 2, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson appeared as Derek Zoolander and Hansel McDonald at Paris Fashion Week.

The original Zoolander opened on Sept. 28, 2001. The movie only made $45.2 million domestically but has gone on to become a cult hit among the generation that was going through high school at that time. Zoolander is widely considered to be the first comedy to hit theaters after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Despite the movie's popularity now, people weren't really ready for an outlandish comedy like Zoolander just two weeks after those attacks.

Stiller has been talking about making a Zoolander sequel for years now, telling Empire in 2011 that the movie would take place "ten years later and most of it is set in Europe" with Derek and Hansel facing a world that has moved past them. Will Ferrell is expected to reprise his role of Mugatu.
