Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund Are Returning for TRON 3

Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund are returning to the Grid. The duo will reprise their roles of Quorra and Sam Flynn for the upcoming Tron sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Both Wilde and Hedlund starred in 2010's Tron: Legacy.

Hedlund has been unofficially attached to the third Tron film, which is possibly titled Tron: Ascension, since Disney began development in December 2012, previously confirming his participation. We've assumed that Wilde too would be back since Quorra played a pivotal role in Tron: Legacy.

Joseph Kosinski will also return to direct Tron: Ascension. There are still several key castmembers from Tron: Legacy who could return, chief among them being Jeff Bridges, who starred as Kevin Flynn in both existing Tron movies; Bruce Boxleitner, who played Alan Bradley, Tron and Rinzler; and Cillian Murphy, who had the uncredited role of Edward Dillinger Jr.

There's also the matter of whether Daft Punk will return for another Tron movie. The duo's score for Tron: Legacy was iconic — Disney should consider bringing back Daft Punk for Tron: Ascension a no-brainer move.

THR reports that Tron 3 is likely to begin shooting this fall.
