'The Amazing Spider-Man' international trailer gives us a deeper look at the reboot
The Amazing Spider-Man, this summer's rebooted Spidey flick, seems to be pushing the secrets angle pretty hard. Peter Parker's parents never played a role in Sam Raimi's trilogy, but Marc Webb is going all in on them for his film. This should be interesting. Over the years, the Parker parents did make their way into the Spider-Man mythos, but they were usually retconned out. The Ultimate imprint though did weave Richard Parker, Peter's father, into the story though. I'm guessing that, like The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man is going to rely on the Ultimate version a bit more than the Raimi trilogy did.
As I've said before, I'm cautiously optimistic on this movie. It looks like it has a great deal of potential. Webb is one-for-one with (500) Days of Summer, and he's put together a great cast. Toby Maguire is the only cinematic Spider-Man people know, but I think Andrew Garfield will change that.
Now, how about getting a secret cross-studio Spider-Man cameo into The Avengers?
