'And That's How I'mma Finish It': The Return of 'Lazy Sunday'

After last week's 100th Digital Short celebration, there was one final loose end for Andy Samberg to tie up: Lazy Sunday. The Digital Short that turned the Saturday Night Live segment into a viral sensation was absent from the 100th Digital Short, and, it turns out, for good reason. Samberg was saving it so it could have its own sendoff.

With this Saturday's episode rumored to be Samberg's final SNL, the Lonely Island frontman and Chris Parnell returned to the streets of New York City with Lazy Sunday 2, rapping about their love of Sister Act: The Muscial. If this wasn't the end of the Digital Short era, I'd be shocked. "On these New York streets, I honed my fake rap penmanship ... And that's how I'mma finish it," sure sounds like Samberg has retired his creation.

SNL's going to have to find a new way to stay relevant next season, as the Digital Shorts have been the show's biggest buzz grabber for the past seven years. I'm sure this won't be the last time we see Samberg and The Lonely Island do this kind of things though. Those albums are going to need music videos, right?
