Disney's 'Tron: Uprising' gets a new trailer (Keeps the Daft Punk soundtrack)
Come June, Disney is going to air a Tron miniseries called Tron: Uprising. Set between Tron and Tron: Legacy, Tron: Uprising will focus on Beck, a program who adopts the persona of Tron to fight Clu. The show boasts an impressive voice cast, bringing Elijah Wood, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Mandy Moore, Paul Reubens, Paul Corddry and Reginald VelJohnson (THE Carl Winslow) into the Tron mix. Bruce Boxleitner (the original Tron) returns too. Sadly, Jeff Bridges isn't a part of this project.
It sounds like Disney had kept/modified Daft Punk's Tron: Legacy score for Tron: Uprising. I loved Tron: Legacy and was a huge fan of Daft Punk's work on it (between Tron: Legacy and Trent Rezor's The Social Network score, 2010 was a year of iconic scores). Hopefully Tron: Uprising keeps both things in the pop culture consciousness and convinces Disney to make good on that third Tron movie they've been teasing.
