Jenna Fischer and 'The Giant Mechanical Man'

Taking a break from The Avengers news, I bring you this: Jenna Fischer has a new movie coming out. The Giant Mechanical Man is the story of a zookeeper (Fischer's character) who falls for a guy who dresses up as a giant mechanical man (think the robot guy in EuroTrip but taller) while being pursued by a motivational speaker played by a long-haired Topher Grace.

The movie has gotten decent reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and is available on-demand through places like iTunes. Seeing Fischer in something besides The Office interests me. She's been in a few movies over the years, with bit parts in Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and Blades of Glory and a supporting role in Hall Pass. With The Office sure to be ending within the next year or two, we're likely to see Fischer make a bigger effort to break into movies.

Interestingly enough, Fischer actually met her current husband, Lee Kirk, on the set of The Giant Mechanical Man. Kirk directs the film.
