Eli Manning on SNL: The revenge of 'Little Brothers'

Going into yesterday's Saturday Night Live, I had very little faith in New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning as a host. His brother Peyton Manning was excellent when he hosted SNL a few years ago, but I've never picked up much of a personality from Eli. To my surprise, Eli Manning was one of SNL's funniest hosts of the season. While his humor isn't the same as an episode hosted by Melissa McCarthy or Jimmy Fallon, the show delivered solid laughs.

One of the best segments of the night was about Eli's work with the "Little Brothers" program, which drew heavily on the "United Way" Digital Short that Peyton did when he hosted.

"Maybe now you'll learn to treat your younger brother with respect, Peyton!" Yes, Eli, with this SNL episode (and those two Super Bowl wins) under your belt, I think we'll start treating you with more respect.

UPDATE: Here are a few more of the episode's best sketches. SNL figured out that having Eli make faces and do weird things was the best way to go. While Eli was basically the straight man in the "What Is This?" sketch, it was interesting to see someone other than Bill Hader play a game show host.
