Thirty Seconds to Mars Unveils Music Video for 'Up in the Air' Featuring Jared Leto, Dita Von Teese, McKayla Maroney and Zebras

Thirty Seconds to Mars doesn't know how to make regular music videos for its singles. The Jared Leto-fronted band released the video for Up in the Air, its first single off the upcoming Love Lust Faith + Dreams album, on Friday, once again delivering something that's closer to a short film than just another video that MTV would play if MTV still played music videos.

Along with bandmates Jared Leto, Shannon Leto and Tomo Milicevic, the Up in the Air video also features other names like burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese, Olympic gymnasts McKayla Maroney and photographer Maxwell Snow. There are also a ton of zebras, a lion, some guys with giant drums and the usual Bartholomew Cubbins* flair for edgy and artistic shots. If you're looking for Zack Snyder-esque shots of Jared Leto dancing, this is the video you've been searching for. During the end credits (yes, there are end credits to this music video), we even get a good chunk of another new Thirty Seconds to Mars song. Anyone have a guess which one it is?

Love Lust Faith + Dreams will be released on May 17, 2013. Check out the video for Up in the Air after the jump.

*In case you didn't know, Bartholomew Cubbins is Jared Leto's pseudonym when directing videos.
