1903: The Ford Motor Company sells its first car. Several members of the Popculturology staff had Fords as their first cars.
1926: Fox Film buys Movietone sound system to record sound on film.
1984: Vanessa Williams is the first Miss America to resign following nude photos appearing in Penthouse magazine. Obviously her career never rebounded since.
1995: Comet Hale-Bopp is discovered. Don't confuse that with Bop-It, the kids toy.
