Bringing Riddles Back? Justin Timberlake Wants to Play the Riddler in a Batman Movie

Justin Timberlake as the Riddler? Green spandex? Timberlake versus Ben Affleck's Batman? Questions? Sorry, got caught up in the spirit of the Riddler for a second. What I'm trying to say is that Timberlake revealed in a radio interview that while he has no interest in playing a superhero, he would love to play the Riddler. From Variety:

“Not a chance in hell. I ain’t playing Robin. I have no aspiration to ever be a superhero in a movie,” he told [Fresh 102.7’s “Jim and Kim” show]. “Now, a villain! I’ll tell you the villain I want to play more than anything because I grew up loving Batman, funnily enough, is The Riddler. The Riddler is my favorite villain. The Riddler was like a sociopath. He was proper crazy. So if I’m gonna play crazy, I’m wanna play proper crazy.”

I could buy Timberlake as the Riddler. His performance in The Social Network garnered some serious Oscar buzz at one point. If you took that paranoid, panicked version of Sean Parker and amped it up a few notches, you would have a pretty interesting take on the Riddler.

While Timberlake says that he has "no aspiration to ever be a superhero in a movie," I do have to point out that he was a finalist along with Jared Leto for the Green Lantern lead role that eventually went to Ryan Reynolds.
