'Now You See Me' Some More As Sequel to Jesse Eisenberg's Magic Heist Movie Gets the Green Light
Now You See Me stands as one of 2013's best surprise hits. While we trudged through awful movies like The Lone Ranger (oops, sorry, Johnny Depp — that movie was AMAZING, but it was those mean critics who destroyed it ...), the magic heist thriller was something original while still being a movie that didn't take itself too seriously. Now You See Me had a great cast and was fun to guess along with.
On Friday, Lionsgate announced that it was planning a sequel for Now You See Me, set to hit theaters in 2014. While the original starred Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Mark Ruffalo, Morgan Freeman and Melanie Laurent and was directed by Louis Leterrier, the studio didn't remark on which members of that crew would be back for the sequel.
Personally, I'm hoping they call the sequel Now You Don't, as in "Now you see me, now you don't." It would make a great advertising campaign — "You saw Now You See Me, now go see Now You Don't."
