TRAILER: Perhaps Chloe Grace Moretz Shouldn't Go to the Prom in 'Carrie' ...
While it's usually easy to knock remakes for just going back to the movie well for an easy buck, I'm holding out hope for the new version of Carrie. According to director Kimberly Peirce and her crew, this isn't a remake of the classic 1976 version — it's a new adaption of Stephen King's novel. From what I've read, the movie also got pushed back from its original March 15 release date in order to heighten the film's terror level. Usually movies get pushed back since something's not working. If Carrie really did get pushed back to amp up its quality, that's a good thing.
A preview for Carrie has been playing during Regal Cinemas' First Look promos that play before movies. I've lost track of how many times I've seen it by now, but I do know that a trailer released by MGM and Screen Gems this week is pretty close to that preview. It does without the interviews with Chloe Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore, Judy Greer and Peirce, but a majority of the footage is the same.
Carrie hits theaters on Oct. 18. Head past the jump to check out the new trailer for the movie.
