'True Blood' Star Stephen Moyer Joins Carrie Underwood for NBC's 'The Sound of Music' Remake
When asked to name a modern-day duo that rivals Christopher Plummer and Julie Andrews, Stephen Moyer and Carrie Underwood instantly come to mind, right? Wait ... no? Well, this is NBC's theory when it comes to the network's upcoming The Sound of Music remake.
We learned back in November that Underwood would play Maria, and on Friday, NBC announced that True Blood star Moyer would play Capt. Von Trapp. Interesting casting, as I'm not quite sure how big the overlap is between people who watch HBO's True Blood and families who would probably watch NBC's The Sound of Music.
At the very least, we'll get to hear Capt. Von Trapp say "Fraulein Maria" in the same voice vampire Bill says "Sookie"? NBC's The Sound of Music airs Dec. 5, so we'll have to wait a few months to answer that question.
